Activities in the Lunel region

Endowed with a rich natural, cultural, and historical patrimony, Lunel is the ideal destination for tourists seeking new experiences and a change of surroundings.

Local traditions enliven the summer season of unforgettable fiestas and bullfights, where bulls and horses rule.

A variety of beautiful landscapes
Located in the green valley of the Vidourle, the Lunel region has a wide variety of landscapes. To the south are the marshes, a magnificent area dotted with "cabanes" (cabins), picturesque buildings from another age. Further to the north is the wild and sweet-smelling “garrigue” (scrubland), on whose slopes can be found vineyards producing a local specialty, the naturally sweet white wine known as the “Muscat de Lunel,” as well as other local wines of controlled origin.

The town of Lunel and the surrounding villages have an exceptional heritage: the Médard Collection in Lunel, an archaeological site at the oppidum of Ambrussum in Villetelle, an 11 th-century Romanesque church in Saussines, a fortified gate from the 12 th and 13 th centuries in Boisseron, Renaissance-style chateau in Marsillargues… a quick visit to the Tourism Board’s website will give you a better idea of the treasures to be found in the region.

Sun and sea
Lovers of history, architecture and beautiful walks will enjoy a visit to the Lunel region, as will fans of bullfighting, especially since there are sunny, wide, sandy beaches just minutes from the town centre.
